Art That Inspires Me

Wed Oct 9, 2013, 3:33 PM
Below are artworks by various artists that have inspired me. This is a very small amount of the inspiring artwork that I have encountered on this site. These works have especially influenced me though.
Take a look!
Kalahari by CanisAlbus
This work by CanisAlbus has particularly inspired my because of all of the angles in the fur. I simply love the way the fur looks like flames. Thank you for creating this beautiful work, CanisAlbus!
In the Moonlight by Elentori
This work by Elentori has really inspired me to use color differently. I love the warm purple that contrasts with the subtle white and bold cyan colors. This has definitely motivated me to work on my coloring skills!
Destruction by Snow-Body
I simply LOVE this piece that Snow-Body has created. I adore the color scheme in this! The hair is so lovely and wispy, motivation for me to work on my drawing to make them more flowy! The eye and overall texture are very pleasing to look at, fantastic job!
Shiba's Pride by urukins
This piece by urukins is very clean and precise and I love the shading technique used here! The blue overlay ties the piece together and adds a nice color contrast to what would've been a bland black and white sketch. Very creative, love your skills!!!
Personally, I think that Sprinkle-Butt is the most underappreciated artist on this website. She's got so much talent!!! I really love the way she made the colors contrast so much in this bust. The hair shading is also fantastic. I also adore her style and the anatomy is flawless. This piece has inspired me to work more on my canine anatomy and my color contrast skills. Lovely piece!! <3
Crocodile's Dream - WIP by Hellobaby
I am a HUGE fan of Hellobaby's art. She always has the most creative ideas! The sheer amount of detail she puts into each and every one of her pieces is also incredible. I would get so frustrated trying to put all of the details that she has, into my art. This piece has inspired me to work on detailing my art more. Amazing work!
le kupkek by SorbetBerry
This piece by SorbetBerry (I adore her user too!) is simple, yet creative and quirky. I love the dotty shading idea, it's so unique! The simplicity of the piece also draws attention to just the right places. This piece has inspired me to experiment with my style. I love the whimsicality!
Lumen by griffsnuff
This piece by griffsnuff is adorable! I love the simplicity in the lines! There isn't a lack of detail though, there's a perfect amount of it. The anatomy is also, as usual, flawless. This piece has really inspired me to practice my shading and anatomy skills. Amazing, as usual!!

Purgatorium by xCoyote
This piece is so well done! xCoyote is a fabulous artist! The anatomy is gorgeous and the posing is so elegant! The glowy markings are also perfectly done! This piece has inspired me to work on my canine posing.
Watercolors by agent-lapin
agent-lapin has a very unique and flowy style. Her watercolor practice is amazing for someone who isn't very experienced at them! The colors in this piece also tie the piece together. The lips are especially well done! This piece has inspired me to branch out and work with other mediums.
SD9.30.13: notworking no...7? by mintyfreshmangos
mintyfreshmangos is an exceptional artist! Her colors are almost surreal! I also love that she didn't draw the trees and went for a more abstract, stroke look. The blue that is incorporated into the piece gives it just the right amount of warm/cool color balance. I really like the long scarf and it's varying thicknesses, it adds so much depth to the piece! This piece has inspired me to draw more scenery.
Ryouki by PrismSky
Last, but certainly not least, is; PrismSky. I love the motion of the hair in this piece. I also really like how the face is crisp but the rest of the piece is more rough looking. The faded color scheme of this piece also gives it a really nice feel that goes with the season. The facial structure is also very proportionate and provides lots of depth to the piece. The beanie and piercings also add a nice alternative flare. I love watching PrismSky's artwork improve! This piece has inspired me to work with my shading and focal point of my piece. Fantastic job!!!
